Mahoney’s is a full-service garden center dedicated to providing the highest quality and largest selection of plants, gardening products, accessories, pottery, and services. The expanded greenhouse we designed allows Mahoney’s the flexibility to show off its large selection of house plants and pottery throughout the year. Translucent shadings on the slanted glass roofs mitigate the light intensity.

The 19,915 sf pseudo-chevron-shaped component of the greenhouse was carefully designed with an asymmetrically balanced envelope, enhanced southwestern exposure for the winter months, and a rotated entry easing the passage to the nursery yard. This configuration offers the visitor a continuity of plant offerings, bent bamboo chairs, and ceramic ornaments including trolls, skulls and 3D-printed vases in many kinds of shapes.

This family-owned garden center has seven locations across Massachusetts.
